Hello Everyone. I have mentioned before on my blog that I am not just a card maker. Well today I am sharing photos of the Baby Wrap that I crocheted and the card that I made as well.
This was made for Matt and Amy some wonderful friends of my family who are expecting their first child – a baby girl – in Nov/Dec of this year.
It is made from a Variegated Cotton yarn for the main body of the wrap and a White Cotton Yarn for the edging. As this baby is going to be born at the beginning of our Australian Summer I wanted it to be useful both now and when it gets cooler. The wrap is approximately 90cm squared and all done in Double Crochet stitch using a 5mm hook.
And this is also the card that I made for the baby shower.
I printed the background with a sentiment that has always been a favourite of mine. And I used an adorable elephant image from My Favorite Things Birdie Brown Adorable Elephants Stamp set and coloured him in with my Copic markers.
I had such fun making both of these. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought
This is so true. A bond between Mother and Child is a powerful one. I am lucky to be called Mum by two wonderful humans. They will always be and will always have my love.
Have a Happy Crafty Wonderful Kind of Day,
PS If your still lucky to have your Mum around give her a call! She will love hearing from you. This is the one thing that I did more often with my own Mum especially since we live so far apart from each other.
I am sharing with you today my travels with my Ipswich Spinners and Weavers Group to the Warwick Jumpers and Jazz Festival. This festival is held at the end of July each year and a feature of course is the Jumpers …. but it’s not quite what you are thinking!!
The “Jumpers” are worn by Trees, Lamp Posts, Street Signs, Statues …. basically anything that would stand still. Well actually most of the people were wearing them as well because the morning did start off cool but warmed up despite it only being the end of July in Australia.
My husband came with me for the bus trip and we plan on coming back to Warwick when there isn’t a festival going on. We love visiting historical towns and seeing their architecture. Plus places out the West of Queensland need our tourist dollars – they are struggling so much because of the drought that doesn’t look to be ending any time soon.
And here is my favourite yarn installation of the day
Now here are the rest of the photos from the lovely day we had
It was a great day out with friends and my Husband. I want to thank you for stopping by my blog today I’m glad that you stopped by. So if ever you are thinking of traveling in the near future can I encourage you to consider travelling in your own state or country. I will guarentee that you will find some interesting people and places along the way.
Have a Happy Crafty
Travelling Kind of Day,
This is going to be a quick post because I shouldn’t even be doing this under Physio orders. So shh … no telling this will be just between us OK! As the title says Everything halted as of yesterday afternoon … I was out for a driving lesson with my Daughter and I hurt my shoulder. I reached for something in the back seat while we were stopped and my shoulder gave out!!
I went to my Physio and he worked on my shoulder and told me that
I’m not allowed to do the following:
Drive or supervise lessons (means I can’t get our Son to school)
or lift anything heavy for the next 24 to 48 hours
or anything that will require a lot of muscle movement of my right shoulder.
The driving isn’t a problem because my Hubby can do the school run both Morning and Afternoon. The lifting is a problem with trying to get my craft area cleaned and organized (see this post) but when my Physio mentioned the last one I laughed at him. I am right side dominate – it’s also the side that I hurt the most – so how can I stop using it. So I hope to not be out of action too long because I want to get back both into my craft zone and onto here as well.
