Cats Christmas

10 Cat Christmas

Hello everyone,
Another Christmas card finished and I am really happy with how it turned out. On my Christmas card list is a bunch of cat lovers and I am sure one of them will love receiving this.

This card was actually inspired by 2 challenges. The bunch over at Time Out Challenges are asking us to be Colourful for challenge #120 and then I have found a lovely sketch site over at Feeling Sketchy and this is sketch #203

FS #203.jpg
The first is the image from their site the 2nd is my copy with the measurements included.

I think that I have covered the Time Out requirements for being colourful. When I saw that challenge I thought of this image, I’m not 100% sure where I got this digital image from. But I printed it out and coloured it in with my Copic markers.  The papers are from my Christmas stash which is shrinking a little but I need to shrink it a lot more.

Hope you like my take on both of the challenges. Thanks for stopping by and having a look at my project. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

RoughOh Snoopy my pal you don’t know the half of it and its not even the end yet! This has been a really really rough week. Hope that your week is going a whole heap better.

Fa La La La Llama

10 fa la lama.JPG

Hello Everyone,
Today was a good day I got to colour some images and I also got to make some cards. So today even though it started rough it has ended good. I looked at my Christmas card stash and it is very low considering how many I need each year.

So I saw the sketch up at Sketch Saturday #535 and I decided that I would make some Christmas cards.

Sketch Saturday 535.jpg

Plus I also decided to make a 2nd card since I had printed 2 of the same images. I used my favourite image from Just Me the Fa La La La Llama image. I sized the Llama so that it would sit on a die cut tag nicely; this is one thing that I love about digital images. This time around I used my Copics to colour in these images. Christmas papers from my stash and some green paper for the matting layers and this finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. And as always before you go I would love to leave you with this last thought

Simple Christmas

10 Simple Christmas.JPG

Hello everyone,
For the card project this time I decided that I would try and go down the simple route. I was given these card cutouts from another card maker and I wanted to see what I could do with it.

Over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge Octobers Colour challenge this time is Silver. You can choose to use either a little or a lot – I chose to use a little.

I embossed the background green paper with a grass die to try and give the impression of foliage of the tree. I cut by hand a piece of maroon paper for the Christmas Tree stand. Over the tree I added some silver stickers that I thought gave the impression of tinsel and some holographic silver circles for the baubles. Then I added some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to the bottom of the card before adding a gold Merry Christmas Sticker and this finished off the card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

Sunbonnet Sue Sews

10 Sunbonnet Sews.JPG

Hello everyone,
Today the card I am bringing to you is featuring one of my favourite characters -Sunbonnet Sue. I have been in love with her since I was a little girl because she seems to be able to do everything. Today she is doing a little sewing.

To start the card I went looking on my favourite sketch sites and found Sketch #358 from Freshly Made Sketches which looks like this

FMS 358

Once I found this sketch I went through my 6X6 paper pads and found one from Kasiercraft called Needle and Thread. To cut the papers into circles I used my stitched circle dies from Uniquely Creative. The backing paper is a Royal Blue by Quill; I used my scalloped circle die to make the small circle elements seem a little more substantial. My Sunbonnet Sue type image called Sewsun (retired image) from Bugaboo I coloured in with my Faber-Castell Polychromos.

I sitting here typing this and I am listening to rain on a tin roof. It is such a soothing sound – I hope to spend time just sitting reading, possibly crafting, drinking tea and listening to the rain.

Christmas Cheer

10 Christmas Cheer.JPG

Hello everyone,
Today my card is another Christmas card – the reason I made a 2nd Christmas card is because the supplies were already sitting on my desk from the previous card. I hadn’t put them away so I thought why not use what was already out.

And I found sketch #534 from Sketch Saturday

Sketch Saturday 534.jpg

As you can see I am including the sketch with the measurements that I used to create the sketch. I thought that others may find having these useful as I love using sketches to make my creations.

So the products I used to make this card are a white heavy weight card stock and maroon layering paper for the layers. The papers come from Kasiercrafts Christmas Carol 6X6 paper pad and the sentiment was included as part of the pad. The flags are made in various sizes and placed until I was happy with the layout.

Well that is my project, thanks for stopping by and having a look at my card. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

Multiple Sclerosis Fibromyalgia Lupus Chronic Illness Chronic Pain....and the list goes on

I am no longer running away from my chronic illness. I don’t like what my illness has done to my body but I am learning to live with the limitations. And now I am letting others know – not for sympathy or kudos – but for understanding when I am no longer able to do what I once did. Being a part of the crafting community both online and in groups is my sanity saver.

Have a Happy Crafty OK Kind of Day,

Christmas Blessings

10 Christmas Blessings.JPG

Hello everyone,
Another Christmas card that I can now add to my stack that I need to either send or give to family and friends.

In the past couple of weeks I have found the blog 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and they have a different type of challenge each week.  So this week is their sketch challenge and this is the sketch that we got to play with

52CCT39 18.jpg

I printed this sketch printed out so I could write down my measurements then I went into my stash of Christmas papers. And I found a 6X6 paper pad by Kasiercraft called Christmas Carol, I really like the variety in this pad. The sentiment and the flowers come from the complementing elements pack. The only separate thing that I added was the maroon layering paper.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. As always before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought

One of my other loves – Reading. I love losing myself in a new novel or even one that I have read before.

Love Is You

10 Love Is You.JPGHello everyone,
The card that I made today could be used for many occassions.  But I think that I like this card sketch though … it’s simple but can be taken in so many directions.

The sketch come from Case this Sketch and its Sketch #292 and it was designed by Brian. And this is the sketch with the measurements that I used to create the above card

CTS 292.jpg

The papers that I used are from Kasiercrafts’ Stargazer 6X6 paper pad. The sentiment I actually cut with my Scan and Cut machine … my machine and I are on speaking terms again after a very extended break from each other. I am making a lot of use of this machine of late due to my fingers becoming more sore from cutting images and such.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought

11 Quotes to Remember When You're in a Bad Mood

I have to try and live more in the moment of what is happening and not second guessing what is coming. Living with a Chronic Illness changes your outlook on life. The way I thought that my life was going to go is nothing like how it is.
